Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is the Data Controller which means that we determine how the information is collected, used, protected and shared, where appropriate.

Visits to workplaces, by email and by post

Why is it being collected?
The lawful bases we rely on to process your personal information are articles 6(1)(c) and 6(1)(e) of the GDPR which, respectively, mean processing is necessary for compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Order to which the controller is subject, and/or processing is necessary for us to perform a task in the public interest or for official functions, and the task or function has a clear basis in law.

How will it be used?
To enable gathering of evidence, to schedule inspections and initiatives, and investigate complaints and accidents.

Who will it be shared with?
TASCOMI, HSENI, Department of Justice, NIEA, Department for Communities

How long will it be retained for?
As per the Council’s Records Retention and Disposal Schedule

How do I make a data protection complaint?
If you consider that your data protection rights have been infringed because of the way Council has handled your personal information (or the personal information of someone you are acting on behalf of), you can make a data protection complaint to the Council by:

emailing DPO@fermanaghomagh.com, or filling in the complaint form, or completing the online form

Data Protection complaints will be handled in line with the reporting periods outlined in the Council’s Complaints Handling Procedure.
