Energy Performance of Buildings
How is application made to building control?
If the building regulations apply to the work and application has to made to the council either a ‘Full Plans’ application or a ‘Building Notice’ can be used for this purpose.
‘Full Plans’ application is where detailed plans of the work are drawn up and these are approved by building control. A ‘Building Notice’ however is a simpler process and consists only of an application form and a location map together with a written description of the proposed work. Depending on the nature and extent of the work a sketch or outline plan may be required.
With regard to the various works discussed in this guidance note it is suggested that a Building Notice is sufficient.
