Who is collecting it?
The Fermanagh and Omagh Policing and Community Safety Partnership is the Data Controller which means that we determine how the information is collected, used, protected and shared where appropriate.

How is it collected?
The information is collected when you complete the application form to become a recipient under the social alarm scheme.

Why is it being collected?
To facilitate the efficient running of the social alarm scheme under the auspices of the Policing and Community Safety Partnership. The legal basis we rely on for processing your personal data is article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, which is that processing is necessary for the performance of a contract, or to take steps, at your request, before entering a contract.

How will it be used?
To enable the assessment panel to assess your application – your application will be coded so that no names or other identifiable information is made available to the panel made up of PCSP Members, Crime Prevention Officers and PCSP staff. To furnish the external social alarm provider with the necessary information to enable them to make contact with you to determine feasibility to install the social alarm. To furnish the external provider with the information to enable them to offer a full service throughout the duration of your contract.

Who will it be shared with?
Any personal information provided by you will not be disclosed to any other third party, unless law or regulation compels such a disclosure.

How long will it be retained for?
The database will be retained until it is superseded, as per the Council’s Records Retention and Disposal Schedule, however the PCSP Manager will review membership as required from time to time to ensure accuracy. Details can be removed at any time upon request by contacting the PCSP Manager on 0300 303 1777 ext. 21214 or emailing carol.follis@fermanaghomagh.com. Please note however that if you ask for your details to be removed you can no longer be a recipient of the scheme.

How do I make a data protection complaint?
If you consider that your data protection rights have been infringed because of the way Council has handled your personal information (or the personal information of someone you are acting on behalf of), you can make a data protection complaint to the Council by:

Data Protection complaints will be handled in line with the reporting periods outlined in the Council’s Complaints Handling Procedure.
