Theme 1 -Theme 1 – Local Community Regeneration and Transformation
1.1‘Enhancement to Existing Community Spaces/Halls’ Programme

A capital improvement scheme to upgrade existing community spaces/halls to bring them up to a higher standard to increase usage.
The programme will provide capital investment of up to €50,000 to 11 community/voluntary sector groups across the district. The programme will incorporate an element of capacity building and facilities training which will complement the capital investment.

1.2 ‘Outdoor Recreational’ Capital Programme

A Capital Scheme to enhance existing outdoor spaces and create new spaces to bring communities together and enhance health and well-being. The scheme aims to provide capital investment across the seven DEA’s with 10 projects.
• Lot 1: Upgrade of play spaces in Lack and Ederney
• Lot 2: Development of a new play space at Derrygonnelly Community Centre.
• Lot 3: Creation of a new play space in Cavanaleck
• Lot 4: Upgrade of play space in Gortin Village

1.3 ‘Capital Youth’ Programme

A Capital Programme that will enhance youth facilities/outdoor spaces (Council owned) with the creation of shared youth spaces in Omagh and Enniskillen. This project is at development stage and will be delivered by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.
Theme 2 – Building Thriving and Peaceful Communities
2.1 ‘Activating Your Space’

This programme will complement the capital programme as outlined in Theme 1. The programme aims to develop activity plans to animate the enhance spaces and bring communities together through a range of activities and shared interests.

Fermanagh Trust (Lead partner) is delighted to announce the launch of its ‘Investing in Community Volunteers’ programme, commencing in January 2026 with a series of community-based workshops. This initiative aims to foster peace, reconciliation, and social cohesion across communities. The workshops are designed not only to build practical skills but also to create accessible opportunities for people from different traditions and backgrounds to come together, share ideas and resources, learn, and collaborate. The programme has been shaped by a district-wide consultation, shaped through feedback from almost 200 responses, programme content, locations, and timings have need designed to reflect local need. Each workshop will run in seven different locations across the district, with flexible dates and times to make sure they are accessible to as many individuals as possible. Courses include committee roles and responsibilities, fundraising, volunteer recruitment and retention, managing your community building, safeguarding, inclusion, and digital skills.
Workshop delivery will be led by Fermanagh Trust, Omagh Forum for Voluntary Associations, and Volunteer Now, bringing together expertise and local knowledge to ensure high-quality, relevant training.
Alongside the workshops, Volunteer Now, Youth Action and Omagh Volunteer Centre will deliver family volunteering opportunities, school engagement visits and youth leadership courses inspiring young people to take leadership roles and encouraging intergenerational participation in community life. These efforts will help embed a culture of volunteering and peacebuilding for future generations.

2.3 ‘Connecting Communities Through Wellbeing’ Programme

This programme is led by ARC Healthy Living Centre in partnership with Fermanagh Rural Community Network, Omagh Healthy Living Network, Oak Healthy Living Centre and Lakeland Community Care (known as Fermanagh Omagh Well-Being Network. This programme aims to reconnect communities across the district by addressing key issues of social and rural isolation and bridging gaps in health and well-being initiatives as identified within the community and voluntary sector. The main focus is to deliver positive interventions that bring people together from all community backgrounds through shared interests and locally relevant activities. The programme will promote social connection, improved well-being, and community cohesion.

2.4 ‘Exploring Our Local Heritage’ Programme

Know Your Place is a community-inspired project celebrating the rich and diverse heritage of the Fermanagh and Omagh district. It invites community groups, individuals, heritage enthusiasts, and schools to discover, document, and share the stories that shape our heritage, from ancient settlements and folklore to industrial heritage and modern transformation.
Through workshops, research, and creative exploration, participants will develop skills in storytelling, interpretation, and mapping. They will also have opportunities to contribute to pop-up exhibitions, performances, and public showcases, take part in best practice visits, and help shape an archive for future generations.
Know Your Place is about connecting people to their heritage and celebrating the unique character of local towns, villages, and rural communities.
2.5 ‘Community Youth’ Programme

The Community Youth Programme is an exciting new initiative designed to engage over 350 young people aged 11–16 from across all seven DEAs in Fermanagh and Omagh. The programme focuses on promoting cross-community understanding, confidence-building, resilience, and improved wellbeing through sport and creative activities. Over the next two years, delivery partners Todds Leap, AB Coaching and Insight Solutions will roll out a range of inclusive and energetic activities including large-scale team-building events, cross-community activity camps, wellbeing workshops and intergenerational health fairs. Activities will reflect the interests and needs of local young people and the wider community, with a strong emphasis on participation, connection, and fun.
The programme is currently in the design and engagement phase, working closely with local schools, youth organisations and community groups to co-design content and ensure maximum impact and reach.
Participation is completely free, and the programme aims to create meaningful connections across communities while empowering young people with the confidence and skills to thrive.
2.6 ‘Environment for All’ Programme

‘Environment for All’ is a community-led environmental project delivered by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council through the PEACEPLUS Programme. The project aims to bring people from all backgrounds together to take positive action for the environment, strengthen community connections, and promote sustainability across the district.
Through activities such as Repair Cafés, In Bloom community gardening, and environmental education workshops, the project will encourage collaboration, creativity, and shared learning. The community-led Repair Café model will empower local volunteers to share repair skills, reduce waste, and promote a circular economy approach.
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is inviting community and voluntary groups, constituted organisations, local community-based organisations, and schools or other educational settings to complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Environment for All PEACEPLUS Programme. Theme 3 – Celebrating Cultures and Diversity
3.1 ‘Exploration of Our Cultural Roots Through Music’ Programme

The ‘Exploration of our cultural roots through music’ programme focuses on the musical traditions associated with our district to explore, promote and celebrate the commonality of our cultural roots. This programme will include cross border partnership working including Monaghan, Leitrim and Cavan County Councils and include a range of cross border workshops, festivals and events to celebrate the vast range of cultures that exist in society today.
The project aims to preserve heritage, strengthen cultural and social identity, transmit historical narratives and values across generations, and foster mutual understanding and respect among diverse communities.
3.2 ‘I Want You To Know About Me’ Programme

The programme is designed by FOCUS to foster peace, integration, and cultural understanding. It particularly supports ethnic minority communities, Irish Traveller groups, and LGBTQIA+ individuals, aiming to reduce isolation, celebrate diversity, and strengthen cross-community and cross-border relationships.
The programme aims to: build thriving and peaceful communities; celebrate cultures and diversity to improve respect, inclusion, and acceptance; create opportunities for cross-community engagement through arts, sports, cultural activities, and skills development; and support mental and physical wellbeing, reduce loneliness, and encourage community confidence.
Programme activities such as health initiatives, workshops, cultural festivals, storytelling, arts, sports, and intergenerational programmes will be delivered between May 2026 to May 2027. Participants will be engaged in meaningful, accessible, and sustainable activities; improved mental/physical health, reduced isolation, and stronger community ties; increased cultural awareness; new cross-community friendships and partnership; and events to celebrate and showcase cultural identities.
About FOCUS
FOCUS (Forum In Omagh for Community Understanding and Support) is the Urban Community Network for Omagh and has been operating since 1995. It brings together community groups from across Omagh’s urban area to work collaboratively for the benefit of local communities. FOCUS supports its member organisations through access to resources, networking, advocacy, funding support, and practical assistance. Its work helps strengthen the community sector, promote cooperation, and ensure local voices are represented and supported.
3.3 ‘Healthy Relationships’ Programme

A programme that includes multiple elements but working to achieve similar outcomes based on promoting healthy relationships and tackling the higher rates of domestic violence in our post conflict society.
3.4 ‘Language Support’ Programme

The provision of language classes in an informal setting for BME and Newcomer communities to give minority groups the ‘step up’ to ultimately engage with other communities to form lasting and positive relationships. Through consultation the importance of extending the language classes out to our local communities was highlighted in order to provide the opportunity to learn new languages and to promote acceptance of the language diversity within the district. In addition, noted at consultation, Irish and Ulster Scots language is further promoted within the district and opportunities to engage with individuals and groups through sign language initiatives.
