Welcome to the Fermanagh and Omagh PEACEPLUS Events and Workshops page. Here you will find information on upcoming courses, workshops, training programmes, community events and activities taking place across the district as part of the Fermanagh and Omagh PEACEPLUS Local Action Plan.
Whether you are interested in developing new skills, connecting with others, exploring local heritage, supporting community wellbeing, celebrating cultural diversity or getting involved in local volunteering opportunities, our PEACEPLUS programmes offer a wide range of FREE opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
The Fermanagh and Omagh PEACEPLUS Local Action Plan is delivering 13 programmes, as detailed in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council PEACEPLUS Local Action Plan, a project supported by PEACEPLUS and managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). Through these programmes, local people can learn, connect and work together to build stronger, more inclusive and peaceful communities across the district.

Know Your Place: Exploring Our Local Heritage
Know Your Place, delivered through the ‘Exploring Our Local Heritage’ Programme is an exciting opportunity to explore the rich and diverse heritage of Fermanagh and Omagh, connect with others and help shape the stories we share for future generations. Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has formally launched its Heritage Plan 2030, setting out its commitment to promoting, protecting and celebrating our unique heritage.
Your Heritage, Our Stories
Heritage is all around us. It is the buildings, landscapes and landmarks that shape our places, alongside the stories, traditions and memories passed down through generations. It connects us to our past, helps us understand one another and gives our communities a shared sense of identity and belonging.
Discover, Share and Celebrate Your Heritage
The programme aims to engage 350 residents across all seven District Electoral Areas, bringing people together through a programme of FREE workshops, talks, events and creative activities. Whether you are interested in local history, family stories, folklore, industrial heritage or the evolution of our towns, villages and landscapes, there are opportunities for everyone to get involved.
Through hands-on workshops, you can develop new skills in oral history, or storytelling, creative writing, photography, filmmaking and exhibition design, while discovering, documenting and sharing the stories that matter to you and your community.
By exploring our diverse heritage together, we can celebrate our cultural roots and commonalities, strengthen cross-community and cross-border relationships, promote mutual understanding and respect, and contribute to building stronger, more inclusive and peaceful communities.

‘Investing in Community Volunteers’ Programme
Are you a volunteer, committee member, community leader or staff member working in the community and voluntary sector?
Applications are now open for a free, accredited OCN NI Level 2 Award in Community Development, delivered through the Investing in Community Volunteers Programme and funded through PEACEPLUS.
The qualification will help you develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to support and strengthen communities, with practical learning around:
Community development principles, values and practice
Good governance and organisational structures
Facilitation skills and techniques
Working with funders and shifting the power.
The course is also an opportunity to learn alongside others involved in community action across the Fermanagh and Omagh area, share experiences and build valuable connections.

The Investing in Community Volunteers Programme provides training and development opportunities for volunteers, committee members and staff working across the community and voluntary sector in Fermanagh and Omagh.
Diploma in Community Development Practice (2026–2027)
Want to make a greater impact in your community?
Registrations are now open for the Diploma in Community Development Practice (2026–2027), a part-time accredited programme delivered by the Fermanagh Trust in partnership with the Rural Community Network. Designed for volunteers, committee members, community activists and those working across the community and voluntary sector, this programme provides an opportunity to explore community development in depth while learning from successful initiatives and experiences from across the sector.
Participants will develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to support positive change in their local communities through a combination of practical learning, discussion and shared experiences.
