Events, Workshops and Learning Opportunities
Welcome to the Fermanagh and Omagh PEACEPLUS Events and Workshops page. Here you will find information on upcoming courses, workshops, training programmes, community events and activities taking place across the district as part of the Fermanagh and Omagh PEACEPLUS Local Action Plan.
Whether you are interested in developing new skills, connecting with others, exploring local heritage, supporting community wellbeing, celebrating cultural diversity or getting involved in local volunteering opportunities, our PEACEPLUS programmes offer a wide range of FREE opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
The Fermanagh and Omagh PEACEPLUS Local Action Plan is delivering 13 programmes, as detailed in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council PEACEPLUS Local Action Plan, a project supported by PEACEPLUS and managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). Through these programmes, local people can learn, connect and work together to build stronger, more inclusive and peaceful communities across the district.

Cooking for Health – ‘Connecting Communities Through Wellbeing’ Programme
Looking to prepare healthy, delicious meals on a budget? Join the Cooking for Health course delivered by ARC Healthy Living Centre as part of the ‘Connecting Communities Through Wellbeing’ Programme.
Over eight weekly sessions, participants will learn practical cooking skills, prepare simple and nutritious recipes, and gain confidence in creating affordable meals. Suitable for all skill levels, the course also provides an opportunity to meet new people, build social connections, and improve health and wellbeing in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Diploma in Community Development Practice (2026–2027)
Want to make a greater impact in your community?
Registrations are now open for the Diploma in Community Development Practice (2026–2027), a part-time accredited programme delivered by the Fermanagh Trust in partnership with the Rural Community Network. Designed for volunteers, committee members, community activists and those working across the community and voluntary sector, this programme provides an opportunity to explore community development in depth while learning from successful initiatives and experiences from across the sector.
Participants will develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to support positive change in their local communities through a combination of practical learning, discussion and shared experiences.

SONGS FROM HOME!
Are you interested in Music, song and story telling? Do you enjoy diving into local history? Then this is for you!
We are thrilled to announce the next theme from the ‘Exploration of Our Cultural Roots Through Music’ Programme.
What is “Songs from Home”?
This is a very special 6-week course coming to various groups and choirs across the Fermanagh & Omagh district. Together, we will learn and celebrate the beautiful local songs, rich stories, and history of our area- no previous experience required.
The Grand Finale
All groups will come together on Saturday, 10 October for an incredible, one-off ‘Songs & Stories Trail of Fermanagh & Omagh’ at the iconic Ulster American Folk Park! You will also get the chance to work with some incredible special guests along the way.

Want to be a part of a new singing group in Omagh or Enniskillen?
Now is your chance to be involved in an incredible 6 week journey as part of our Songs from Home project. Together, we will explore our cultural roots through the power of music and community singing. No auditions or music-reading skills are required, just bring your enthusiasm!

SONGS FROM HOME – TRAVELLING COMMUNITY
Calling all members of the Travelling Community, local musicians, and history enthusiasts.
As part of ‘Songs from Home’ we are delighted to be exploring the songs, stories and rich traditional cultural of the Irish Travellers.
For centuries, the songs and stories of the Irish Travelling Community have been the heartbeat of our shared folk heritage. This September you are invited to preserve, celebrate, and keep that living tradition thriving.
Join renowned local balladeer and folk musician Tom Sweeney at Omagh Community House for 4 weeks of stories, songs & music. Brinrg your voice, no singing experience necessary.
This course is a dedicated space to explore the rich cultural roots, rare ballads, and profound oral histories that define the Traveller community. Whether you want to listen, share your own family stories, or learn about these ancient cultural custodians, your voice belongs here.
