Life of Abdu’l-Bahá, Head of the Baha'i Faith from 1892 to 1921

Organised in conjunction with Fermanagh and Omagh Interfaith group, this event took place during Interfaith Week 2021, and featured guest speaker Carmel Irandoust, the former Secretary General of the Baha’i International Community in the Holy Land.  Carmel’s talk, The Life of Abdu’l-Bahá, Head of the Baha’i Faith from 1892 to 1921, was followed by a screening of a film on the life of Abdu’l Bahá.

 

The Churches In Ireland from Plantation to Partition

‘The Churches in Ireland from Plantation to Partition’ is a talk by Dr Éamon Phoenix that explored the background to the main Christian Churches in Ireland from Plantation times to the twentieth century. It focused on the reactions of the main Irish Churches to key issues such as the Home Rule Question, the Great War, the 1916 Rising, Partition and the creation of Northern Ireland and the Irish Free State during 1920-22. It also examined the religious background of major figures such as Carson, Craig and Devlin and the role of the Churches after 1922.
