Would you like to build your knowledge and confidence in supporting children and young people with special educational needs?
People 1st, in partnership with Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, is offering the:
Level 3 Award in Working with Children and Young People with Special Needs
This tutor-led course will provide you with valuable knowledge and practical skills to help you support children and young people with additional needs effectively
Course begins: Thursday 5 November 2026
Duration: Six weeks
Delivery: Online via Zoom
An information session will also be held before the course begins, with details shared shortly
UPDATED ELIGIBILITY
Applications are now welcome from anyone living within the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area.
The course is particularly relevant to classroom assistants and those currently working in childcare. While applications are open to everyone, priority may be given to applicants working in these sectors if the programme is oversubscribed.
Understand how to support the learning of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. This is a fantastic, fully funded opportunity to gain a recognised Level 3 qualification and develop skills that can make a real difference in the lives of children and young people.

Female Entrepreneur Programme

Fermanagh and Omagh Labour Market Partnership (F&O LMP), funded through the Department for Communities, focuses on improving employability outcomes and labour market conditions locally by working with partners from across the public, private and community/voluntary sectors.
The F&O LMP collectively developed an Action Plan for 2024/25 which includes a variety of initiatives tailored to address the following three key themes within the Fermanagh and Omagh area:
- Improving skilled labour supply
- Tackling economic inactivity
- Disability
