Enniskillen Public Realm

What is Enniskillen Public Realm Project?

The Enniskillen Public Realm project is an environmental improvement scheme comprising proposed high quality paving, kerbing, surface water drainage, signage, planting/landscape design, street furniture, lighting (including festive lighting), and consideration of event space and potential locations for public art work or equivalent structures.

The site extent is from Belmore Street on the East to Darling Street at the West of the Town Centre with the following streets included in between;

·    Church Street

·    High Street

·    Townhall Street

·    Eden Street

·    Water Street

·    Market Street

·    Middleton Street

·    The Diamond

·    East Bridge Street

·    East Bridge Place

·    Paget Square

·    Regal Pass

·    Darling Street

·    Belmore Street

·    Queen Elizabeth Road (partial)

·    Wesley Street

Planned Works October 2021

Townhall Street: Squad 1 – Footpath excavation and paving works will commence from Oxfam to the Diamond.

High Street: Squad 2 – Footpath excavation and paving works will be undertaken from Halifax towards the Diamond.

During kerbing and paving works pedestrian access to properties will be maintained through use of temporary walkways. Parking adjacent to the works area will be restricted to facilitate construction and maintain pedestrian and traffic flow.

Carriageway Resurfacing Church St: These works will take place between Sunday 10th September and Saturday 16th September.  The works will be undertaken with a road closure between 6pm and 6am daily with the road reopened during the day.   

Footpaths will remain open at all timesTown centre traffic will exit via Paget Square.

Carriageway Resurfacing Belmore St: These works will take place between Sunday 17th September and Thursday 28th September.  The works will be undertaken with a road closure between 6pm and 6am daily with the road reopened during the day.   

Footpaths will remain open at all timesWhile Belmore St will remain closed during this period, east bound traffic on Queen Elizabeth Road will be maintained for as long as possible so that traffic can enter the town centre with ease.
