Emergency Services Day 2025 – A Free Family Fun Day Celebrating Local Heroes
16th May 2025

Fermanagh and Omagh Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) is proud to announce the return of Emergency Services Day, taking place on Sunday 25 May 2025, from 2pm to 5pm at Tyrone Farming Society (TFS) Showgrounds, Omagh.
This free, family-friendly event offers a unique chance to meet the people behind Fermanagh and Omagh emergency services and enjoy an action-packed afternoon of rescue and investigative demonstrations, opportunities to step inside ambulance, fire and police service vehicles, helicopter landings, and much more.
To help the public understand the work the Emergency Services carry out on a daily basis, there will be a number of live demonstrations planned:
Throughout the day (2pm – 5pm)
• Crash Car Simulator with Fermanagh and Omagh PCSP. This vehicle provides a realistic simulation of a Road Traffic Accident with movement, sound and vision.
• NI Prison Service (NIPS) demonstration, providing the opportunity to have a look inside a prison service van and talk to the NIPS about their work.
• Children’s entertainment with Denise from Jo Jingles in the TFS building.
2.10pm – Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) Dog Section demonstrate how highly trained canines remain one of the most valuable assets in modern day policing.
2.30pm – Erne Coastguard Helicopter landing. Please note, helicopter times and landings are subject to operational needs.
3.00pm – North West Mountain Rescue Team demonstrate the equipment essential for rescue operations.
3.15pm – Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) road traffic collision simulation in cooperation with PSNI & Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS)
3.45pm – Fermanagh and Omagh PSNI vehicle and operational equipment display
4.30pm – Erne Coastguard Helicopter take off. Please note, helicopter times and landings are subject to operational needs.
Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh PCSP, Councillor Roy Crawford, expressed his enthusiasm for the event:
“I am delighted that PCSP is once again hosting Emergency Services Day—this year in Omagh at the Tyrone Farming Society Showgrounds. The event is a fantastic way for the public to see firsthand the critical work our emergency services carry out daily.
The demonstrations are always a huge hit with children and adults alike, and we are thrilled to welcome back so many participating organisations. I commend the passion and dedication of our emergency service teams and volunteers who help deliver this brilliant event.
The PCSP would like to extend our thanks to the Tyrone Farming Society for generously providing the use of their Showgrounds site, and of course, we’re excited to welcome back Barra Best as our compere—fingers crossed he brings good weather!”
Admission is free, refreshments will be available to purchase from a variety of food vendors. Attendees are encouraged to visit as many information stands to learn more about the emergency services and safety in the community. A quiet space will be available onsite for attendees.
