Council lights up buildings in support of charitable causes

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is reminding charities and constituted groups of the opportunity to raise awareness of a significant occasion, campaign or international day by lighting up Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh.

Through the Council’s lighting up scheme, registered charities, constituted community and voluntary groups and public bodies can apply to have Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh, illuminated in a single colour to mark an important event, awareness campaign or international day of significance.

Commenting on the opportunity for charities and organisations to raise awareness of a good cause through the lighting up of Enniskillen Castle and the Strule Arts Centre, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Thomas O’Reily, said:

“Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is pleased to support charities and groups in raising awareness of particular good causes and days of significance and to celebrate and recognise the achievement of charitable and community organisations and their contribution to the area to by illuminating Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre.”

A maximum of six light ups will take place each month. Applications will be considered on a first come basis and must be submitted no more than six months in advance of the requested illumination.
