Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is the Data Controller which means that we determine how the information is collected, used, protected and shared, where appropriate.

The information could be collected when a member of the public contacts the Council by telephone, email or letter.

Why is it being collected?
The lawful basis we rely on for processing your personal data is article 6(1)(e) of the GDPR, which is that processing is necessary for us to perform a task in the public interest or for official functions, and the task/function has a clear basis in law.

The information is used gather further information if required and to update the member of the public, after they have raised an issue/complaint, on the works/service.

Personal information may be shared with the relevant staff responsible for the provision of the service/works; for investigation, dealing with the issue and responding to the originator. Information may be shared with other Council departments, statutory enforcement bodies, agencies or relevant organisations for the purpose of addressing an issue and delivering the service.

The information will be retained in line with the Council’s Records Retention and Disposal Schedule.
