“As a Council, we are proud of what has been achieved over the last 12 months in light of the ongoing and significant challenges including financial pressures, the cost of living, new and increasing demands on Council services and the adverse climate and ecological changes.

I am pleased that, during 2022-2023, the Council was the first of the eleven Councils in the North of Ireland to adopt its Local Development Plan 2030 Plan Strategy, developed Place Shaping Plans for Enniskillen and Omagh, achieved Planning Excellence for Gortin Glen Forest Park and secured £20million Levelling-Up Funding for the proposed redevelopment of Fermanagh Lakeland Forum to encourage improved health and wellbeing of our residents.

Looking forward, the Council will continue to focus on a regenerated District with better quality jobs, vibrant communities living healthy lives, enhanced green spaces, local economic growth, fair distribution of opportunities and access to public services which are fit to meet the challenges of the future.”

The FO 2030 Community Plan Strategic Vision for 2030 is shared by the Council’s Corporate Plan and together continue to be its roadmap to a thriving, resilient, successful, connected, healthier and inclusive Fermanagh and Omagh.  In achieving this, the Council will continue to support residents and adapt to and embrace opportunities and challenges in the external environment.
