Fermanagh and Omagh District Council Supports Gortin Glen Twilight Harvest Market

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is proud to support the upcoming Gortin Glen Twilight Harvest Market, a unique autumn event bringing together local food producers, makers, arts and crafts, musicians and families for a wonderful evening in one of the district’s most scenic locations.

Taking place on Saturday 17 October from 4pm to 9pm at Gortin Glen Forest Park, the free event, organised by Urban Events NI, will transform the park into a vibrant twilight marketplace showcasing local produce, live entertainment and family-friendly activities.

Visitors can enjoy live music, browse stalls showcasing local makers, producers and independent traders, sample seasonal food and drinks from food trucks, and encounter walkabout characters and interactive entertainment, all set against the stunning backdrop of Gortin Glen Forest Park as day turns to dusk.

The event is being supported through Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Events and Festivals Sponsorship Programme, which provides an opportunity to bring ambitious new events to the district while helping existing festivals and attractions grow and extend their reach.

Through strategic investment, the programme supports sustainable, safe and well-managed medium, large-scale and high-impact events, ranging from niche and specialist experiences to regional, national and international attractions.

Events such as the Gortin Glen Twilight Harvest Market and the upcoming Harvest Fair at Florence Court, County Fermanagh, on 24 and 25 October, demonstrate how Council sponsorship can help create memorable visitor experiences, attract new audiences and encourage longer stays. They also strengthen the district’s reputation as a vibrant destination while delivering lasting economic, tourism and social benefits for local businesses and communities.

Speaking on the Twilight Harvest Market event, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Debbie Coyle, said: “The upcoming Twilight Harvest Market at Gortin Glen Forest Park promises to be a truly unique event in one of our district’s most scenic locations.

“As day turns to dusk, the park will be transformed into a vibrant marketplace showcasing the very best produce from our local producers and independent traders, seasonal food and drinks, and entertainment for all the family.

“The exciting event highlights the Council’s commitment to supporting innovative experiences that create unforgettable memories for residents and visitors, celebrate our local communities, and showcase the very best of our district.”

A free shuttle bus service will operate from Drumragh Car Park, Omagh, running approximately every 30 minutes from 4pm until 7.30pm, with the final return bus departing from Gortin Glen Forest Park at 8.30pm.

Visitors can also join the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council Biodiversity Team for a free guided trail through the forest. Bring your wellies and a torch and explore the forest while learning about the trees and the animals that live there. The trail will take place every hour, on the hour, from 4pm to 8pm. No booking is required. This activity is part of the Oak Woodland Restoration Project for Nature Recovery, funded by DAERA.
