Who is collecting it?
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is the Data Controller which means that we determine how the information is collected, used, protected and shared where appropriate.

How is it collected?
The information is collected when joining the Council’s Business Database, via standard email, the online “Request for Support” jot form and via a consent form if you are attending events.

Why is it being collected?
To distribute information that may be useful to businesses in the District – training opportunities, workshops, business support mentoring.  The legal basis we rely on for processing your personal information is Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR which means that you have given clear consent for us to process your personal information for a specific purpose.

How will it be used?
To provide information to businesses in the District (sending via Mailchimp) to inform those businesses of support/opportunities available through the Council and other Third Party providers including Invest NI, Department for Communities, InterTrade Ireland and Public Health Agencies.

Who will it be shared with?
Any personal information provided by you will not be disclosed to any other third party, unless law or regulation compels such a disclosure.

How long will it be retained for? 
The Business Database will be retained until it is superseded (as per the Council’s Records Retention and Disposal Schedule), however the Tourism and Economic Development section, will review consent after three years.

How do I make a data protection complaint?
If you consider that your data protection rights have been infringed because of the way Council has handled your personal information (or the personal information of someone you are acting on behalf of), you can make a data protection complaint to the Council by:

Data Protection complaints will be handled in line with the reporting periods outlined in the Council’s Complaints Handling Procedure.
