Motion: Recission of a preceding resolution in relation to the resolution removing ‘Matters Arising’ from future Committee Agendas.

Council Meeting - 2nd June 2021

We, the undersigned Fermanagh & Omagh District Councillors, submit a recission of a preceding resolution in relation to the third resolution under  Agenda Item 4.1 (that is, to remove Matters Arising from the agenda of   future Committee Meetings) from the Policy and Resources Committee     Meeting which took place on Wednesday 12th May, under Standing Order 24.

Given the fact that Matters Arising has, to date during the current Council term, been an appropriate and effective avenue to address important issues  and deal with responses issued/further information on topics relevant to the  District Council area, we believe it is a mistake to remove the additional  layer of scrutiny that Matters Arising currently provides.
