Motion: Inland Stillwater Lakes

Council Meeting - 2nd June 2026

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council notes the importance of angling to the tourism offering in the District and the important contribution this makes to the local economy.

Furthermore, this Council recognises that Inver, Lyons, and Acrussel loughs are premier coarse angling waters which are well stocked with tench and other fish which are highly sought after catch for anglers.

This Council commits to engaging with local landowners, the Erne Anglers Angling Club and other relevant stakeholders to assess what options may be available to improve access to these loughs, including the identification of potential external funding sources and governance models.
