Motion: Defibrillators

Council Meeting - 5th July 2021

“While acknowledging Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s investment in automated external defibrillators (AEDs) at many Council buildings and facilities, we call on the Council to raise public awareness regarding the location of defibrillators located variously throughout the District; to work proactively and more closely with relevant statutory and non-statutory bodies including Public Health Agency, Western Health and Social Care Services Trust, Ambulance Service, Education Authority, The Cormac Trust and Red Cross as well as other voluntary and community-based organisations, including First Responders, retail businesses and local sports clubs to ensure that this life-saving equipment is more accessible for everyone in our community; and that public awareness and the opportunity to train and retrain in Cardiopulminary Resuscitation (CPR)and in the use of defibrillators is increased within our community”.
