European Heritage Open Days (EHOD) 2026 will take place on 12–13 September 2026, offering free public access to historic sites, cultural landmarks and special events across Northern Ireland. The 2026 theme, Heritage at Risk – Revive, Resist, Reimagine, encourages the public to explore and share stories of preservation, resilience and renewal, while also improving access to heritage and uncovering lesser-known histories.
To support participation in EHOD 2026, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is inviting applications from eligible groups and organisations for sponsorship to deliver events that celebrate and promote the District’s arts, heritage and cultural traditions. Suitable activities may include guided walks, talks and tours, craft workshops, community fun days, storytelling, music, dance and theatre performances, historical sports and pastimes, pop-up events, or projects highlighting overlooked sites and stories.
