Discover the remarkable story of Drumclay Crannog, a lakeside settlement near Enniskillen occupied from the early 9th century, with periods of activity continuing into the 17th century.

Following a major archaeological excavation in 2012, the site revealed one of Ireland’s most important early medieval and medieval rural collections.

The Living at Drumclay exhibition explores how people lived, worked and relaxed. It features highlight objects including the wooden cheese press and gaming board, alongside personal items such as jewellery, shoes and combs. These rare objects offer a vivid glimpse of daily life on a Fermanagh crannog and the skilled community closely connected to its environment.

Living at Drumclay is a partnership exhibition between Fermanagh County Museum, Enniskillen Castle and Historic Environment Division, Department for Communities.
