23 June 2026 – International Dravet Syndrome Awareness Day
Buildings will be illuminated in purple to raise awareness of Dravet syndrome, a rare and severe form of epilepsy affecting around 1 in 15,700 people.

Beginning in infancy, Dravet syndrome is a lifelong condition involving frequent and sometimes prolonged seizures, alongside challenges such as developmental delays, speech and motor difficulties, and behavioural and sleep issues. There is also an increased risk of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).

This illumination highlights the significant impact on individuals and families and aims to increase awareness and understanding.
