Culture Night 2026: A Diverse Celebration of Culture and Heritage

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is proud to once again sponsor a vibrant programme of events for Culture Night 2026, taking place on Friday 18 September.

This annual celebration invites residents and visitors to enjoy a diverse array of free cultural experiences throughout the District.

This year, Culture Night will bring local heritage and creativity to life through an exciting programme of music, dance, storytelling, guided walks and cultural experiences.

These events celebrate the people, places, traditions, food and stories that make our community unique, while creating opportunities for people of all ages to discover more about the cultures around them.

Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Debbie Coyle, said: “I am delighted to see such a diverse programme of events taking place across the district, offering something for everyone, from music and storytelling to history, dance and art.

“Culture Night 2026 celebrates the many cultures, traditions and stories that make our district unique, while creating opportunities for people to come together, share experiences, discover new perspectives and enjoy the wealth of local talent on our doorstep.

“I would encourage everyone to take part in the fantastic range of events taking place across the district, and to discover, enjoy and celebrate the diverse cultures and traditions that make our communities so vibrant.”

This year, at least 15 free events will take place across the district.

Culture Night gets underway at 4pm in Fermanagh House, where Sruth na hÉirnes Club Óige will host Rince agus Damhsa, a free Culture Night traditional dance session.

A flavoursome evening awaits as Omagh Community House will come alive with a Taste of Omagh from 6pm, offering a selection of food from around the world and an opportunity to experience the richness of cultures that now call our community home.  From 6.30pm Flavours of Asia will provide an opportunity to sample authentic Asian foods, arts and crafts, dance and more.

Music takes centre stage at 7pm in Omagh Cultural Hub, where Omagh True Blues will host an Open Music Workshop, offering people of all ages and abilities the chance to try out different musical instruments, meet the facilitators and hear performances in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Over at Evan’s Wood, Clabby, a traditional Seanchai with Friends of the Little Woods will take place from 7pm, inviting audiences to step outside to explore the magic of Celtic storytelling.

Roslea will also come alive with traditional Irish music, song and storytelling at 7pm, as Roslea Comhaltas hosts an evening of wonderful entertainment.

Greencastle Community Centre invite you along to experience the warmth and tradition of Irish music, dance and hospitality at our Taster Drop-In Session at 7pm.

Meanwhile, the Masonic Hall in Lisnaskea will host an engaging panel discussion at 7pm, featuring three SEFF members who come from different cultural backgrounds.

At 7.30pm, Dún Uladh Cultural and Heritage Centre will welcome Oónagh McArdle and friends for a traditional singing session, bringing together a wonderful mix of songs in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Gather at An Creagán to celebrate Irish and Scottish traditions from 7.30pm with an evening of music, dance and culture.

The Weigh Inn Omagh will host a Tribute to Stephen McKenna at 8pm, celebrating the local writer and journalist whose rich creative legacy includes both prose and song.

Meanwhile, the Brooke Memorial Hall will welcome Brookeborough Flute Band at 8pm for an Ulster Scots Open Rehearsal, offering an exciting behind-the-scenes look at a band practice evening.

Kirlish Ulster Scots Association will showcase the music, art and talent of its youth from 8pm at Kirlish Orange Hall, demonstrating the skill involved in performing with a range of musical instruments.

At the Riverside Bar in Garrison, Belleek CCÉ will host an evening of traditional Irish music, song, dance and recitation from 8pm, celebrating cultural heritage at a local level.

The evening will conclude at 9pm in Greencastle Community Centre with an Open Traditional Music Session, led by Ardboe Instrumental Group, along with local musicians and Irish Dancers.
