Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark has launched its exciting programme of events for August to December 2023.

The wide variety of events provides opportunities to explore the stunning UNESCO region in West Fermanagh and West Cavan.

On Saturday 05 August 2023, enjoy a caving adventure as you go wild caving in Pollasumera.  The adventure will give you an insight into the cave system and the geological history which exists below the ground.

Embark on a family self-led heritage treasure trail in Blacklion/Belcoo, Belturbet or Castle Saunderson on 17 and 18 August 2023.  Meet the Geopark Staff, collect your booklet, complete the trail and claim your treasure at the end.

If you know a young aspiring archaeologist, the Big Dig for Kids event on 19 and 20 August at Killykeegan and Castle Saunderson is the prefect way to give them the experience.  After the Big Dig, they will have the chance to try fossil making.

Celebrate International Bat Night at Old Castle Archdale on 26 August 2023.  Using bat detectors you can explore and learn about one of Ireland’s most mysterious mammals.

Enjoy the buzz of beekeeping with an introduction to the hobby at Enniskillen Castle on 09 September 2023.  Find out what makes a good hive, the lifecycle of the honeybee and how to care for them before getting a chance to taste real homemade honey.

On 22 and 23 September 2023, learn the traditional craft of willow weaving at Enniskillen Library.  This two day course will allow you to learn and have a go at the ancient craft used to make baskets and many other items.

For wild food fans, join the foraging walk at Killykeen Forest on 01 October 2023 to explore the fascinating food available locally.

On 06 and 07 October 2023, go Dark Sky gazing to enjoy the glorious sights of the night sky at Cavan Burren Park.
