Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Debbie Coyle recently hosted Enniskillen Town United Football Club to celebrate their recent achievements, winning the Junior Cup and the League.

Speaking at the event, the Council Chair said;
”As Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, I am delighted to welcome you all here to the Townhall, Enniskillen, for this reception to celebrate Enniskillen Town United Football Club and their remarkable achievements in the 2025/26 season, winning both the Junior Cup and the League.
The 2025–26 campaign will go down in history as one of the most successful in recent memory, a season defined by ambition, resilience, and ultimately, achievement. This remarkable group of players and staff have restored pride, passion, and silverware to this proud club.

A major highlight was Enniskillen Town United ending a long wait for major honours by lifting the prestigious Irish Junior Cup for the first time since 2007. From the early rounds right through to Windsor Park, the team demonstrated determination, composure, and a true winning mentality.
Memorable victories along the way included a 3-1 win over Ballycastle United, a strong 3-0 performance over Newhill, and a dominant 4-0 quarter-final victory against Groomsport. Perhaps the defining moment came in the semi-final against NFC Kesh, where Enniskillen Town United showed immense character, securing their win in a dramatic penalty shootout.

That resilience set the stage for a truly unforgettable final. At Windsor Park, Enniskillen Town United delivered their finest performance of the season, defeating Rosario YC II 4-0 in a display of confidence and quality. Goals from Darren Freeman, Haydn Love, and Nicholas Collen sealed a famous victory and ensured the cup returned to Enniskillen after nearly two decades.

Equally impressive was Enniskillen Town United’s Mercer League Division One success, which was built on outstanding consistency. Losing just once in 22 matches, they finished with 14 wins, seven draws, and 49 points to secure their first league title since 2013. A strong defence proved vital as they edged ahead of their closest challengers, NFC Kesh.

The title race went down to the final day, but “Town” rose to the occasion with a decisive 1-0 victory over NFC Kesh at St Michael’s Pavilion. Key wins against Augher Stars, Enniskillen Rangers, and Dergview Reserves kept them in contention, and their final-day triumph sealed the championship, ended a 13-year wait, and completed a remarkable league and Irish Junior Cup double.

On behalf of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, I would once again like to offer my congratulations to the entire team and staff at Enniskillen Town United. The Council is committed to providing opportunities for inclusive leisure, recreation, and sporting activities to support wider social inclusion and improve health outcomes, and clubs like yours are vital in achieving this.

You have demonstrated the immense sporting talent within the district, and your achievements are a testament to the dedication, commitment, focus, and support you show to one another. This evening is an opportunity to reflect on all that has been achieved and to look forward to the future success of the club. I wish you every continued success.”
