Agricultural Liaison Group Visits Fane Valley Feeds
17th July 2026
Members of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Agricultural Liaison Group recently undertook a research visit to Fane Valley Feeds in Omagh to gain a greater understanding of one of the district’s leading agricultural businesses and its significant contribution to the local agri-food sector.
The visit formed part of the Group’s programme of engagement with local agricultural businesses and provided Members with the opportunity to see first-hand the scale and diversity of the Fane Valley operation.
During the visit, Members learned about the company’s integrated business model, from growing crops and manufacturing animal feed to transport, logistics and quality assurance. They also heard how Fane Valley’s business extends beyond feed production through its ownership of companies involved in livestock production, supporting a fully integrated supply chain focused on delivering high-quality food products.
Fane Valley Feeds is one of the largest feed manufacturers in Northern Ireland, producing more than 350,000 tonnes of dairy, beef, sheep, pig and poultry feed annually. The company operates production sites in Omagh and Newry, employs 98 people and delivers feed to customers throughout Northern Ireland and the border counties of the Republic of Ireland using its own fleet of modern vehicles.
Members also learned about Fane Valley’s commitment to product quality through its in-house laboratory for testing and quality control, as well as its continued investment in people, infrastructure and technical innovation to deliver high standards of customer service and on-farm performance.
Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Agricultural Liaison Group, Councillor Paul Robinson, said:
“It was a privilege to visit Fane Valley Feeds and see first-hand the scale and innovation of one of our district’s leading agri-food businesses.
