Who is collecting it?

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is the Data Controller which means that we determine how the information is collected, used, protected and shared, where appropriate.

How is it collected?

Information is collected through the Building Regulation application process.

Why is it being collected?

The lawful basis we rely on to process your personal information is Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR, which means the processing is necessary for compliance with the Statutory requirement under the Building Regulations (NI) and Building Regulations (NI) Order 1979.

How will it be used?

To inform applicants of compliance or non-compliance with the Building Regulations (NI) legislation.

Who will it be shared with?

Tascomi, Land and Property Services, NIFRS, Planning, Environmental Health.

Personal information will not be disclosed to any other third party, unless law or regulation compels such a disclosure.

How long will it be retained for?

As per Council’s Records Retention and Disposal Schedule.

How do I make a data protection complaint?
If you consider that your data protection rights have been infringed because of the way Council has handled your personal information (or the personal information of someone you are acting on behalf of), you can make a data protection complaint to the Council by:

Data Protection complaints will be handled in line with the reporting periods outlined in the Council’s Complaints Handling Procedure.
