Johann Sebastian Bach - Concerto for Two Violins
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Violin Concerto No.4
Joseph Haydn - Symphony No.104 London
Patrick Rafter - Conductor/Violin
The Ulster Orchestra is delighted to return to Strule Arts Centre with a concert filled with all the warmth and charm required to see off February chills! Conductor Patrick Rafter also takes centre stage as featured soloist in two wonderful works for solo violin. Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins weaves two solo lines together to mesmerising effect, hauntingly beautiful in the centre of the work and with bustling energy at its start and end, while Mozart’s Fourth Violin Concerto sparkles with virtuosity and playful cheer. Haydn’s final Symphony, nicknamed ‘London’, closes the concert and is a joyous celebration of all his innovative writing for orchestra.
