Strategic Capital Projects Grant Programme 2026/27

The Strategic Capital Projects Grant Programme is aimed at meeting the needs of the district with a Corporate Plan 2024-28, Inclusive Economy Action Plan 2024-28 and Climate Change and Sustainable Development Strategy. The funding will provide a mechanism for investing in rural/urban areas and is available to local community/voluntary organisations with a project plan to enhance existing facilities or to meet an unmet local need.

The Strategic Capital Projects Grant Programme 2026/2027 will open for online applications on;

Monday 13 April 2026 and close at 5.00pm on Friday 15 May 2026

The grant scheme has been allocated £1m for 2026/2027 for two categories of projects:

Category 1 – Larger strategic grants up to £300k with a maximum of one project at this scale. The project must robustly demonstrate how it serves communities across a District Electoral Area (DEA) or across several DEA’s in the district.

Category 2 – Medium Capital with grants up to £100k.

 

To be eligible to apply, all applicants must attend a 2026/2027 mandatory information workshop. Workshops will be held on the following dates;

Grant Aid & Bursary Funding – 2026/27

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council provides funding to voluntary clubs, societies, community groups, social enterprises and sporting organisations for grant aid.  Bursaries are also available to individuals in the area of Culture and Sport.  Applicants must be based within the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area.

Applications for the 2026/27 grant call closed on Wednesday, 18 February 2026 at 5pm.

Community Services – Project Development 

Applications for Community Services – Project Development are open on a rolling basis and can be accepted throughout the year. Sports Team – Grant Aid (Significant Sporting Achievement)

Applications for Sports Team Grant Aid is open on a rolling basis and can be accepted throughout the year up until 31 March 2026.   For events after this date, applications should be made on the 2026/27 application.  Please contact Grants & Investment for further information.

Bursaries – Sports Bursary

Every project, initiative and development which is financially assisted by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council through grant aid is required to recognise this financial contribution through the use of the Council brand on all publicity material and by acknowledgement in press releases and other media information.
