Beidh Comhairle Ceantair Fhear Manach agus na hÓmaí ag glacadh páirt i Seachtain na Gaeilge, an Fhéile Gaeilge idirnáisiúnta, a bheidh ar siúl ón 1 Márta go dtí an 17 Márta. Tá imeachtaí éagsúla le cur ar siúl ar fud an cheantair chun éagsúlacht na Gaeilge a cheiliúradh agus a thaispeáint. Ina measc sin beidh seó grinn, tóraíocht taisce, ciorcail chomhrá, féile drámaíochta, taispeántas ealaíne agus imeacht ceoil thraidisiúnta agus damhsa.

Ag labhairt dó faoin chlár, dúirt an Comhairleoir Thomas O’Reilly, Cathaoirleach Chomhairle Ceantair Fhear Manach agus na hÓmaí:

“Tá Comhairle Ceantair Fhear Manach agus na hÓmaí ag eagrú agus ag cothú clár fairsing imeachtaí, amhail cainteanna, ceardlanna agus taispeántais, chun Seachtain na Gaeilge a cheiliúradh. Beidh na himeachtaí sin ina ndeis do chónaitheoirí agus do chuairteoirí araon an oidhreacht shaibhir agus an Ghaeilge inár gceantar a bhlaiseadh.

Tá an Chomhairle tiomanta dár n-oidhreacht thógtha agus chultúrtha a chaomhnú agus a bhainistiú ar bhealach inbhuanaithe, agus tá áthas orm gur thug an Chomhairle tacaíocht d’iarrachtaí an phobail Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia 2024 a cheiliúradh, rud a thaispeánfar sna seachtainí beaga atá romhainn.”
