‘Youth in Action’ Programme

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, in partnership with the Rio Ferdinand Foundation, was delighted to deliver its Good Relations ‘Youth in Action’ Programme 2022 at the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum, Enniskillen, over 7 days in August.

Twenty three young people, aged 14y to 18y, from across the community and the Council area, participated in this unique and fun summer programme. They made new friends, enjoyed a wide range of activities, learnt leadership and coaching skills and met influencers like former Chelsea FC star, Paul Canoville, and members of the PSNI. They gained the confidence to be the next generation of youth leaders and lead the way in tackling sectarianism, racism and discrimination.

This programme also offered the participants the opportunity to undertake an OCN accredited Equality, Diversity and Inclusion course and a Level 1 Sports Leadership Qualification training as well as to take part in a Mental Health workshop, Biodiversity talk and tree planting. The programme concluded with a cross-border football tournament in the spirit of good friendship and as celebration of good relations.
