Good Relations Week 2025 Launch
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council Prepares to Celebrate Good Relations Week 2025
Local groups and organisations across the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area have put together an exciting programme of community and cultural events for Good Relations Week 2025.
This year’s theme, ‘Connect,’ recognises that the foundation of a better community is built on People, Planet and Prosperity – all connected by the goal of Peace. The programme of events will run from Monday 13 to Sunday 19 October 2025 as part of a region-wide programme co-ordinated by the Community Relations Council and supported by The Executive Office under the Together: Building a United Community strategy.
Throughout the week, audiences can look forward to workshops, lectures, panel discussions, podcasts, storytelling, digital content, exhibitions, and more. These events highlight how communities are working together to break down barriers, celebrate diversity, and create opportunities for a more inclusive society. The events will also highlight positive efforts to address challenges such as sectarianism, racism, gender inequality, health and wellbeing, poverty, and education.

Barry McElduff, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council said: “Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is proud to once again support Good Relations Week. Our council is passionate about celebrating diversity, fostering inclusivity, and building a brighter shared future. It is inspiring to see so many local groups coming together with such energy to highlight the good relations work happening all year round.”
“I encourage everyone to visit the Good Relations Week website and to explore the excellent programme of events. Become involved and attend at least one event. By joining discussions, sharing experiences, and learning from one another, we can all play a part in the positive change our society needs.”
Martin McDonald MBE, Chair of the Community Relations Council, added:
“We commend the dedication of local groups and organisations across Fermanagh and Omagh for their continued involvement in Good Relations Week. Their commitment helps create spaces where voices are heard and valued. Good Relations Week is a unique opportunity for everyone to come together, connect with one another and take steps towards building a better and more inclusive society for all. When we connect, we can overcome division, heal past wounds and build a shared future where peace is not just an aspiration, but a reality.”
Dr Jacqueline Irwin, Chief Executive of the Community Relations Council, said:
“This year’s theme, ‘Connect,’ is about more than sharing a room – it’s about genuinely building relationships. By connecting with one another it allows us to share experiences, break down barriers, embrace diversity and address the societal challenges we face as a region.
“I encourage everyone to browse this year’s events listing and take part. By participating, we can make meaningful connections and drive positive change towards a stronger, more cohesive society.”
