Celebrate St Patrick’s Day 2026 in Enniskillen

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, in partnership with Project St Patrick, is delighted to present 24 hours of St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Enniskillen on 16 and 17 March 2026. These popular, large-scale events showcase community spirit, creativity and culture in Ireland’s only island town.

This year’s theme, “Shamrocks and Shared Stories,” will shape an exciting programme of music, entertainment and family activities across the town.

St Patrick’s Eve – Monday 16 March 2026 6pm – 9.30pm

Festivities begin at Enniskillen Castle with an evening of free entertainment suitable for all ages, including:

  • Live ‘rock-folk’ gig by The Porter Bellys
  • A wide range of hot food vendorscoffeeice cream, and a licensed horsebox bar
  • A stunning illuminated flotilla on Lough Erne featuring 40+ boats, with public viewing at the Broadmeadow and river’s edge

Last year’s St Patrick’s Eve celebrations attracted more than 5,000 visitors, and the enhanced programme aims to offer an even more memorable experience for both locals and tourists, with an opportunity to stay overnight before the main event.

St Patrick’s Day – Tuesday 17 March 2026

Free Family Fun Day 1pm – 3.30pm

The celebrations continue with an extended free fun day at Enniskillen Castle and the Broadmeadow, featuring family entertainment, activities and special guest appearances throughout the early afternoon.

Enjoy opportunities to get out on Lough Erne, take part in high‑octane fun activities, pick up some free sweet treats, or simply relax with some story telling or enjoy the live traditional music and dancing. Lots of additional catering vendors on site.

Traditional St Patrick’s Parade 3.30 – 4.30pm

From Castle to Castle, the traditional parade will snake through the heart of Enniskillen, crossing its iconic bridges and celebrating the unique geography of the island town.

Visitors are encouraged to grab their viewing spot early along the route and enjoy pre‑parade entertainment from the fabulous folkabilly Hand Me Downs, along with a number of surprise appearances.

Crowd numbers of up to 30,000 are expected across the day. Quiet Space viewing is available by advance request – please email info@projectstpatrick.com
