Roadworks notice – visitors to the Grange Council office, Omagh Leisure Complex & surrounding area
29th August 2025
Updated: 29 June 2026
If you are visiting the Grange Council offices, Omagh Leisure Complex and surrounding area, please be aware that the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has advised the Council of ongoing lane, and some temporary road closures up to August 2026 on the following routes:
– Gortin Road
– Mountjoy Road
– Old Mountfield Road
– Lisanelly Avenue
– Strathroy Road
DfI has advised the Council of the following temporary road closure to be implemented over the coming weeks:
One-way closure: Gortin Road from Killybrack Road to Strathroy Road
– From Monday 6 July 2026 to Friday 28 August 2026
Traffic will operate one way from Strathroy Road towards Killybrack Road. Traffic travelling towards Strathroy Road will not be permitted beyond Killybrack Road. Access to Old Mountfield Road and Lisanelly Avenue will remain available, while traffic travelling into Omagh will continue as normal.
These closures are required to facilitate works as part of the Gortin Road Scheme.
Vehicle access will be retained for Lisanelly Avenue residents and emergency (blue light) vehicles and the Translink ‘Gortin Road-Strathroy’ service will operate as normal.
DfI Roads advises drivers to expect delays in the area, particularly at peak times, and to allow extra travel time or use the signed alternative routes.
These works are being delivered by the Department for Infrastructure. You can view the closure and diversions here.
