Registration Now Open for FEAR 2026 – Fermanagh’s Ultimate Endurance Adventure Race

Registration is now officially open for FEARmanagh 2026, the Fermanagh Endurance Adventure Race, which returns to Derrygonnelly on Saturday 26 September.

Organised and funded by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and supported by the Derrygonnelly community, FEAR is a thrilling, home-grown adventure race that celebrates the untamed beauty of West Fermanagh through a multi-discipline challenge.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark, FEAR offers participants an unforgettable journey through Ireland’s most scenic landscapes.

This year, the Council is again proud to announce that the event is being sponsored by Monaghan Brothers, Lisnaskea. The sponsorship will spotlight their robust Isuzu vehicle range, which reflects the endurance and capability demanded by the FEARmanagh challenge.

The event is expected to attract over 300 competitors from across the country and beyond.

Whether you’re an elite endurance athlete or an adventurous spirit looking for your next challenge, FEAR offers two course options: the 74 km Long Course for those seeking the ultimate test of stamina, and the 35 km Short Course, a demanding yet accessible route.

Both courses combine trail running, cycling, and kayaking, starting and finishing at Derrygonnelly Community Centre.

FEAR 2026 is delivered in partnership with the Cuilcagh Lakelands Geopark and is supported by local emergency services, including the Police Service of Northern Ireland, Royal National Lifeboat Institution and Irish Mountain Rescue.

The event would not be possible without the support of the Derrygonnelly and District Community Partnership, Derrygonnelly Community Centre, and the wider local community.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, FEAR continues to lead by example. In 2023, the Council introduced a range of eco-friendly initiatives under its ‘Greening our Event’ campaign, aimed at reducing environmental impact.

These efforts will continue in 2026, and participants are encouraged to support this mission by embracing responsible and sustainable practices.
