Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Seasonal Outdoor Music Programme has proved popular this summer, with a number of free performances still to take place throughout August.

The programme has provided opportunities for both established and emerging artists to showcase their talent, while offering live musical entertainment for residents and visitors across the district.

This weekend, Sunday 16 August, Mullaghy Flute Choir will perform at The Round O, Enniskillen, while Foxtrot Uniform will take to the stage at Grange Park, Omagh. Both performances will run from 1pm to 3.30pm.

Then, on Sunday 23 August, from 1pm to 3.30pm, Letterbreen Silver Band will perform at The Round O, Enniskillen, while St Eugene’s Brass and Reed Band will perform at Grange Park, Omagh.

The programme will conclude on Sunday 30 August, from 1pm to 3.30pm, with Fermanagh Comhaltas performing at The Round O, Enniskillen, and Paul McLaughlin performing at Grange Park, Omagh.

The outdoor performances aim to bring public green spaces and town centres to life, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors to enjoy throughout the summer.

Artists and bands who have performed so far include Fermanagh Concert Band, Ballindarragh Accordion Band, Fermanagh Youth Choir, Luke Bell, Paul Cassidy, Foxtrot Uniform, Mad As Folk and Tumbleweed.

Speaking about the success of the Seasonal Outdoor Music Programme, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Debbie Coyle, said: “The Seasonal Outdoor Music Programme has brought a welcoming atmosphere to our parks and town centres, while enhancing the experience for residents and visitors alike.

“It has also provided an excellent platform for local musicians, helping to support and showcase the wonderful artistic talent we have across the district.

“With a number of performances still to take place over the coming weekends, I encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the music and make the most of the free outdoor entertainment on offer.”

As the summer programme draws to a close, the Council is also pleased to announce the return of the Live n’ Local Festive Street Music Programme this November and December.

Performances will take place at The Diamond in Enniskillen and Market Street in Omagh on Saturdays 28 November and 5, 12 and 19 December from 1pm to 3.30pm.
