New Play Park Opens in Lack as Part of PEACEPLUS Outdoor Recreation Investment
10th July 2026
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is delighted to announce the completion of a new play park in Lack, providing a modern, inclusive outdoor space for local children, families and the wider community to enjoy.
The project has been delivered through the Outdoor Recreational Capital Programme, part of the Fermanagh and Omagh PEACEPLUS Local Action Plan, which will see 10 outdoor community spaces transformed across the district. The programme is supported by PEACEPLUS, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), with match-funding provided by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.
The Outdoor Recreational Capital Programme aims to create welcoming, accessible and inclusive community spaces that encourage recreation, physical activity and opportunities for people from all backgrounds to come together. The new play park in Lack has been designed to support active play while providing a vibrant space for families and the wider community to meet, connect and enjoy the outdoors.
Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Debbie Coyle, welcomed the completion of the project, saying:
“We are delighted to see this fantastic new play park completed and now open for the people of Lack. This represents a significant investment in high-quality, inclusive play facilities that will bring families together, encourage healthier lifestyles and strengthen community spirit. We hope this welcoming new space will be enjoyed by children, families and residents for many years to come.”
Chair of the Fermanagh and Omagh PEACEPLUS Partnership, Councillor Thompson, said:
“The completion of this project marks another important milestone in delivering the PEACEPLUS Local Action Plan. Through collaboration with local communities, we are creating shared spaces that promote inclusion, encourage new connections and foster positive community relations. We are delighted to see this new facility open and already making a positive contribution to community life in Lack.”
The new play park is one of 10 outdoor community spaces being enhanced across the Fermanagh and Omagh district through the PEACEPLUS Local Action Plan, helping to create shared, inclusive environments where communities can come together, build relationships and enjoy improved recreational facilities.
