Home for the Holidays at Marble Arch Caves: A Christmas Experience Like No Other
18th November 2025
Marble Arch Caves invites you to celebrate the magic of Christmas underground and beyond with a sparkling line-up of festive events for all ages this holiday season.
Over the years, the Marble Arch Caves have become a much-loved Christmas hub, a place where families, schools, and visitors returning home for the holidays can experience something truly unique. From enchanting storytelling in Mrs Claus’s Cottage to soothing sensory experiences and magical carols deep beneath the earth, the Marble Arch Caves’ 2025 Christmas programme promises something special for everyone.
This year’s theme, “Home for the Holidays”, celebrates connection, warmth, and togetherness, values that shine through in every event. The programme includes inclusive and family-friendly experiences including festive musical experiences underground for those seeking a magical festive escape.
The Elf Escape -Sensory Space will run from 1st to 21st December at the Marble Arch Caves Visitor Centre. Step into a Christmas-themed Sensory Space, transformed into a peaceful festive retreat by our little elves. Designed especially for families with children who have sensory needs, this gentle, inclusive experience features soft lighting, calming sounds, and interactive sensory play. Free from distractions, it offers a relaxed and magical way to experience Christmas where everyone is welcome.
Mrs Claus’s Cottage will be open on 6th–7th, 13th–14th, and 20th–21st December during the day, and on 22nd–23rd December in the evenings at Killykeeghan Nature Reserve, one mile from Marble Arch Caves. Step into the warmth of Mrs Claus’s cosy cottage, where the fire crackles and the scent of freshly baked cookies fills the air. Families are invited to meet Mrs Claus, a kind-hearted storyteller who loves to share festive tales, and her cheerful Christmas elves. Children can decorate their own festive keepsake, create a tasty gingerbread man, and share in the joy of a truly heartwarming Christmas experience.
Harmonise Underground, a Christmas carol concert, will take place on Saturday 13th December in the Marble Arch Caves. Guests will enjoy an unforgettable carol concert in the awe-inspiring setting of the Marble Arch Caves, a natural cathedral of stone, echo, and wonder. Local choir Harmonise will fill the caverns with the timeless beauty of Christmas carols, their harmonies blending perfectly with the cave’s natural acoustics. After your underground journey, return to the Visitor Centre for a festive drink and mince pie, and enjoy a 20% discount (excluding sale items) in the gift shop, the perfect opportunity to finish your Christmas shopping.
