Hats Off to Forthill 2025 Delivers an afternoon of fun in Enniskillen
28th July 2025
Forthill Park in Enniskillen came alive with music, laughter, and community spirit last week as the much-loved Hats Off to Forthill event returned, organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.
Thanks to the dry summer weather, over 1000 visitors gathered to enjoy a vibrant afternoon of free entertainment and activities in one of Enniskillen’s most scenic historic parks. DJ Bob kept the energy high with lively music from the bandstand, while children delighted in traditional games, balloon modelling, hula hooping, and interactive sessions with Jo Jingles.
The Council’s Climate Team offered a range of fun and educational activities, providing a fantastic opportunity for attendees to ask questions and learn more about climate topics- adding an educational twist to the fun.
One of the highlights of the day was the chance to climb the 108 steps of Cole’s Monument to view the statue of Galbraith Lowry Cole and take in the panoramic views of Forthill Park and the island town of Enniskillen from the top of the 98ft tower.
Speaking after the event, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Barry McElduff said:
“It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying Hats Off to Forthill. Events like this are a fantastic way to bring our community together and showcase the beauty and heritage of our local parks. I was delighted to see families exploring, learning, and having fun in such a welcoming and lively atmosphere.”
The Council’s Seasonal Outdoor Music Programme continues throughout the summer with live performances every Sunday from 1pm to 3pm at the Round O in Enniskillen and Grange Park in Omagh. A variety of other summer events are also taking place across the District at Council venues and facilities.
