Four Fermanagh and Omagh Parks Achieve Prestigious Green Flag Award Status for 2026

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is delighted to announce that four parks within the District have been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award for 2026, recognising them among the best-managed green spaces in the region and beyond.

Broadmeadow, Enniskillen and Grange Park, Omagh have successfully retained their Green Flag status for a third consecutive year, while Forthill Park, Enniskillen and Gortin Glen Forest Park, Omagh have achieved the accolade for a second year in succession.

The Green Flag Award is the national – and now international – benchmark for well-managed parks and green spaces. Established in 1996, the scheme celebrates outdoor spaces that are welcoming, safe, clean, environmentally sustainable and supported by strong community involvement. Applications are assessed annually by industry experts to ensure parks continue to meet the highest standards.

The four award-winning parks are also home to some of the District’s most popular play facilities, with play parks located at, Forthill Park, Gortin Glen Forest Park and Grange Park.

Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Debbie Coyle said:

“We are absolutely delighted that four of our parks have once again achieved Green Flag Award status for 2026.

It is particularly pleasing that Broadmeadow and Grange Park have retained this prestigious accolade for a third consecutive year, while Forthill Park and Gortin Glen Forest Park have secured the award for a second-year running.

These awards reflect the dedication and commitment of Council staff, volunteers, local businesses and community groups who work tirelessly to maintain and enhance these valued spaces for everyone to enjoy.
