Fermanagh and Omagh Schools Cross Country Championships 2026
5th June 2026
The Fermanagh and Omagh Primary School Cross Country Championships 2026 recently concluded at the Bawnacre Centre, Irvinestown. Organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, this year’s Championships took place over five days – on the 27th, 28th and 29th May, and 1st and 2nd of June – with exciting and competitive races throughout. Almost 1,700 pupils from 44 schools took part.
Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Debbie Coyle, said:
“The Primary School Cross Country Championships is always a fantastic event for the young people of our district, and I was delighted to learn that almost 1,700 pupils from 44 schools took part this year.
Events like this encourage children to lead healthy, active lifestyles while enjoying the experience of participating in a large-scale sporting competition.
Congratulations to every child who took part—you should be very proud of your achievement. I also want to thank all the participating schools for their continued support in promoting physical activity and wellbeing among our young people.”
