Fermanagh and Omagh District Council delivers further playpark upgrades across the District
21st November 2025
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has completed four more major play park improvement projects, improving facilities for children, families and communities across the District.
The play park upgrades, in Beragh, Donagh, Loughview Drive (Enniskillen), and Erne Terrace (Derrygonnelly), represent a strategic investment in locally available physical activity, play and community wellbeing opportunities. The Council’s Play Park Strategy aims to provide modern, inclusive, and accessible spaces where children and families can play, socialise, and stay active in their local areas.
Each play park has been fully upgraded with high-quality equipment and improved accessibility, ensuring that children of all ages and abilities can enjoy safe, stimulating, and inclusive play environments. Some of the new and improved features include:
- Modern multi-play units encouraging imaginative, active, and social play
- Wheelchair-accessible and sensory play features such as level-access roundabouts, inclusive rockers, and tactile play panels
- Adventure and climbing structures designed for a range of ages and abilities
- In-ground trampolines providing fun and accessible play for all users.
- New impact-absorbing surfaces and enhanced safety and access arrangements
- Additional seating, inclusive picnic benches, and landscaping to create welcoming community spaces
As these three play parks ‘swing’ into action, work is also well underway in Strathroy & Knockmoyle Drive in Omagh and Seskinore, with even more to come in 2026.
