Families Flock to Forthill for Annual Fun Day

Hundreds of families enjoyed an afternoon of free entertainment and activities at Forthill Pleasure Park on Friday 31 July 2026, as the annual Hats Off to Forthill event once again proved a popular attraction.

The Bandstand was at the heart of the celebrations, with DJ Bob providing music throughout the afternoon while giant bubbles from Bubble Trouble drifted across the park, delighting children and adults alike.

Young visitors took part in a wide range of traditional activities, including rope making, willow weaving and hula hooping with Lizzie, while Mr Twister’s balloon modelling created an assortment of colourful animals and characters.

There was also the opportunity to meet a goose, ducks, chicks and hens, while Jo Jingles kept younger children entertained with music and movement sessions. Biodiversity activities encouraged budding naturalists to learn more about local wildlife and the natural environment.

The playpark remained open throughout the event, ensuring there was plenty to keep families entertained. This year’s event was sponsored by Share Energy.

Forthill Pleasure Park, which was laid out in 1891 as a public green space for the people of the town, once again fulfilled its original purpose by bringing the community together for an afternoon of fun and celebration.

Keeping a watchful eye over the festivities was Cole, the park’s familiar resident sculpture, as another successful Hats Off to Forthill drew to a close.

Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Debbie Coyle, attended and said: “Hats Off to Forthill once again proved to be a fantastic opportunity for people of all ages to come together and enjoy a free afternoon of entertainment in one of our most beautiful historic parks.

“Now in its 12th consecutive year, this much-loved event continues to go from strength to strength. With live music, family-friendly activities and plenty of entertainment, it was the perfect way for families and friends to spend a summer afternoon together in the heart of Enniskillen.

“I would like to thank everyone who came along to support the event, as well as Share Energy for their valued support in helping to make it possible.”
