The Easter Studio Painters Exhibition at Strule Arts Centre, Omagh opens on Thursday 2nd April and continues until Saturday 25th April 2026.

The Easter Studio is the home and creative hub of Omagh artist, Gerry Bradley. A frequent exhibitor at Strule Arts Centre and a familiar face in Omagh’s art scene, Gerry has been showing his work locally for around four decades.

The Easter Studio Painters first exhibited at Strule Arts Centre in 2018, when there were six painters plus Gerry.  This exhibition presents the work of 18 painters so the public is in for a treat regarding variety and content. On display there will be landscapes, seascapes, portraits, still life, flowers and some figurative compositions. There will also be an ‘Icon’, although Gerry explains ‘not in the traditional sense’ and follows on to say that ‘surprises are always refreshing in the art world’.

The landscape of Omagh town is celebrated in a range of artistic approaches and some of the portraits on display may seem familiar. Gerry explains that ‘the dynamic of a large group show such as this always brings a strong sense of visual excitement not just within individual pieces but with the comparing and contrasting of the different styles, techniques and approaches of each of the artists, after all ‘Variety is indeed the spice of life’.

The patrons of the Easter Studio have benefited from the expertise, knowledge and skills of Gerry Bradley and have successfully developed their own expertise to impressively high standards.  ‘The bar gets raised to a high level when you come in here’ one patron was recently overheard saying to a fellow painter.

Some of the artists are quite recent members of this group of painters whilst other ‘key members’ have been availing of Bradley’s expertise for more than ten years. ‘That is the nature of painting’, says Gerry,’ it is an ongoing voyage of discovery and whilst I may share expertise with my painters, it is their enthusiasm and determination which is positively infectious and which energises and urges me to press on when creativity may be waning. For that I am very grateful.’

Opening the exhibition, Cllr Barry McElduff, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council said;

“The Easter Studio Painters continue to play a vital role in enriching our local arts scene. This particular spring exhibition is a wonderful reflection of their talent and passion.

We as a Council are proud to support a group whose creativity brings so much vibrancy to our community.

Gerry Bradley’s name itself bespeaks quality when it comes to art. I look forward to welcoming visitors to enjoy this inspiring new collection.

Easter Studio Painters Exhibition will be having its’ launch on Thursday 2 April at 7pm in Strule Arts Centre. All are invited to attend. The exhibition runs until Saturday 25 April, 9.30am, Monday – Saturday. Admission is free.
