Council update in relation to Storm Floris – access to facilities & outdoor spaces

Due to the Met Office weather warning for wind, as a result of Storm Floris, which was in place on Monday 04 August 2025, in the interests of safety, a number of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council facilities and open spaces were closed for public access during the period of the warning.

There may be some delays in the reopening of these sites to enable safety inspections. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Updates in relation to each of these Council facilities and open spaces is as follows: 

  • Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail – has reopened
  • Gortin Glens Forest Park (including scenic drive) – car park, play park, walking trails and scenic drive have reopened. Mountain bike trails remain closed.
  • Lough Navar Forest Drive – remains closed. Scheduled to reopen on Saturday 09 August 2025.
  • Household Recycling Centres (due to risk of flying debris) – all centres are open as per normal opening hours.
  • Forthill Park – has reopened
  • Henry Street Dog Park – has reopened
  • Killyfole Walk – has reopened
  • North Fermanagh Valley Park – has reopened
  • Arleston Dog Park – has reopened
  • St Julian’s Park – has reopened
