Council update in relation to medium impact weather warning for wind – Monday 26 January

Due to the Met Office weather warning for wind, which was in place from 00:00 to 23:59 on Tuesday 27th January 2026, in the interests of safety, the following Fermanagh and Omagh District Council facilities and open spaces were closed for public access during the period of the warning:
- Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail – has reopened
- Gortin Glens Forest Park (including scenic drive) – Forest Park reopened, scenic drive remains closed
- Lough Navar Forest Drive – has reopened
- Household Recycling Centres (due to risk of flying debris) – have reopened
- Forthill Park – has reopened
- Henry Street Dog Park – has reopened
- Killyfole Walk – has reopened
- North Fermanagh Valley Park – has reopened
- Arleston Dog Park – has reopened
- St Julian’s Park – has reopened
- Leisure Centres – Outdoor Facilities
- Pitches & Multi Use Games Areas (MUGAs) – Donnelly’s Holm Grass Pitches remain closed
Safety inspections are underway. Sites will remain closed until safety inspections are complete. Updates will be posted here as they become available.
Household bin collections & other services
Residents should continue to present their bins for collection as normal and should secure any outdoor objects on their property, such as garden furniture and trampolines, which may cause damage during high winds.
All other Council services, buildings and facilities are scheduled to operate as normal during the weather warning.
