Council statement in relation to the introduction of booking system for Council Household Recycling Centres
25th June 2025
-
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council approved the development of a booking system for the Council’s Household Recycling Centres in November 2024.
-
This initiative is designed to support improved recycling and better customer experiences for residents using Household Recycling Centres, particularly in relation to reduced queuing time and improved health and safety arrangements.
-
The booking system will also help us to tackle misuse of our recycling sites by residents who do not live within the District.
-
Since November 2024, the Environmental Services Committee has received and considered several updates on the project over the past number of months. These updates are publicly available on the Council’s website.
-
The decision to implement a booking system is an operational service improvement measure.
-
The booking system will accommodate online and telephone bookings.
-
The project is currently in the development phase. The Council is committed to keeping residents informed. Further details will be shared with residents through a dedicated communications campaign closer to the time of implementation.
