Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is now inviting nominations for its annual Young Achievers’ Reception, an event celebrating the remarkable accomplishments of young people across the District.

Hosted each year by the Chair and Vice Chair of the Council, the Young Achievers’ Reception recognises individuals and teams aged 18 and under who have demonstrated exceptional achievement. Nominations are welcomed across a wide range of categories, including, but not limited to, Art, Debating, Drama, Education, Music, Reading, Charity/Community work, Public Service, Heroism, Volunteering, Dancing, Dog Handling, Equestrian, Farming and Sport.

Achievements eligible for nomination must have taken place between 1 April 2025 and 31 March 2026.

Speaking about the Young Achievers’ recognition, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Barry McElduff, said

“Young people throughout the Fermanagh and Omagh District are consistently achieving extraordinary things, often quietly and without recognition. Their energy, creativity and determination shine through in so many inspiring ways.

Celebrating them not only honours their success, but it also encourages and uplifts others across our community. I strongly encourage residents to nominate a young person or team who deserves to be recognised and celebrated.”

The nominee must be a resident of the Fermanagh and Omagh District, and nominated teams must also be based within the District. A shortlisting process will take place, and successful nominees will be invited to attend a special recognition event in May 2026.

The closing date for nominations is 5pm on Friday 17 April 2026.
