Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has introduced a new generation of parking payment machines across its Pay & Display off-street car parks, offering residents and visitors a more flexible and convenient way to pay for parking.
The new Pay & Display machines are replacing the units that have been in operation for 20 years and have reached the end of their operational lifespan.
The update increases the available payment options from two to three, giving motorists greater flexibility and convenience. Drivers can still choose to pay by cash, via RingGo or can take advantage of the new contactless card payment option directly at the machine.
The new machines also support the Council’s environmental commitments. The machines are solar powered and eliminate the need for nonrecyclable paper tickets helping to reduce carbon emissions.
The updated machines guide users through a simple step by step process:
  • Enter your vehicle registration number
  • Confirm using the green button
  • Pay with coins or select parking time required using the + / – buttons for card payments
  • Tap your card to pay (no PIN required) or insert coins for payment
By entering vehicle registration details, drivers no longer need to display a paper ticket on their dashboard, as traffic attendants verify payment through their handheld system. This operates in the same way that payment information is already checked for parking payments via RingGo.
The new machines will be introduced across the Council’s 13 Pay & Display off-street car parks in Enniskillen and Omagh.
