Council Hosts Annual Employee Recognition Awards
18th December 2025
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council hosted its annual Employee Recognition Awards in November 2025, celebrating the dedication and achievements of staff across the organisation. The event was led by the Chair of the Council, Councillor Barry McElduff, alongside Chief Executive Alison McCullagh, who presented awards to employees for their outstanding service and accomplishments.
This year’s ceremony was particularly significant as Fermanagh and Omagh District Council celebrates its 10th anniversary. To mark this milestone, two special awards were introduced: the 10-Year Recognition Award, which was presented to the Planning Team, and the Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognised everyone who supported the Council in Emergency Planning and response delivery.
Long Service Awards were presented to 25 employees marking 20 years of service, 11 employees marking 30 years of service and one employee marking 40 years of service. Achievement Awards recognised 13 employees for academic and professional accomplishments, reflecting their commitment to continuous learning and development. Twenty-five staff retired during 2025, and their contribution was celebrated with warm wishes from the Council.
The event also included the announcement of the Employee and Team of the Year Awards for each Directorate, along with special awards for Innovation, Health and Wellbeing, and the Sports and Social Club. Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Barry McElduff said,
“Employees are the heart of any organisation, and we are fortunate to have such a diverse range of talents and expertise within the Council. Each and every member of staff should know that their work is deeply appreciated. This year, as we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we reflect on the outstanding quality and commitment of our staff. Their determination, flexibility, and dedication to delivering high standards of service for our residents is commendable.”
The Council remains committed to fostering a positive culture and working environment that empowers staff to achieve their potential and encourages innovation for the benefit of all stakeholders. The annual Employee Recognition Awards exemplify this commitment.
