Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has today launched its Performance Improvement Plan 2025–2026, outlining a renewed commitment to enhancing services, empowering communities, and building a more resilient district for all.

The Plan sets out clear priorities that will guide the Council’s work over the next 12 months, focusing on economic growth, community wellbeing, environmental responsibility, and enhanced access to public services. Developed in consultation with residents, community partners, and stakeholders, the plan reflects the Council’s ambition to be responsive, transparent, and people centred.

Speaking at the launch, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor McElduff, said:
‘This Plan is, of course, a statutory requirement. But more than that, it is a public commitment to continuously improve. It reflects the voices of our residents and sets out how we will work together to make real, measurable progress on the issues that matter most to our communities.
We are proud to lead with that sense of purpose and accountability.’

Chief Executive Alison McCullagh welcomed the plan’s formal adoption:

“Our Performance Improvement Plan is shaped by evidence, driven by need, and informed by local aspirations. We are committed to making every service count — whether it’s supporting local business growth, reducing environmental impact, or improving access to council services. This plan gives us a clear framework to measure our progress and deliver results that make a difference.”

The Plan includes targeted improvement objectives across four key areas:
· We will prioritise the Council progressing towards Net Zero
· We will work in partnership to tackle disadvantage to ensure our people have access to opportunities.
· We will work in partnership to achieve a more inclusive economy and to promote shared prosperity across our district.
· We will seek to innovate and advance our governance and digital capabilities to improve the quality of our services and the effectiveness and efficiency of the Council.
