Council Chair hosts reception to mark 40th anniversary of Fermanagh Enterprise

Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Cllr Barry McElduff, hosted a reception at the Townhall, Enniskillen on Tuesday 09 December 2025 in recognition of the 40th anniversary of Fermanagh Enterprise.

Speaking at the event, the Council Chair said:

“As Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, I am delighted to welcome you all to the Townhall in Enniskillen for this reception marking the 40th anniversary of Fermanagh Enterprise, an organisation that has become a pillar of our local business community and a driving force for visionary thinking.

Fermanagh Enterprise Limited was established in 1985 as one of the first Local Enterprise Agencies in the North of Ireland. The Organisation embodies the vision of a dedicated group of local professional and business people striving for practical solutions to unemployment and relieving poverty through stimulating economic prosperity.

Fermanagh Enterprise’s initiatives aim to help start-ups thrive and nurture the ambitions of those with an entrepreneurial spirit by providing flexible industrial and office workspaces, free business advice, delivering support programmes, and developing links with stakeholders at local, regional, and wider levels, among other objectives.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is committed to building and maintaining an entrepreneurial ecosystem that encourages and supports entrepreneurs from all sectors at every stage of their business journey. I am delighted to say that our district boasts a thriving and dynamic economy with strong levels of business start-ups, and as a Council we strive to position Fermanagh and Omagh as a prime location in which to invest, live, and work. I commend Fermanagh Enterprise for helping us achieve this goal by providing invaluable guidance and mentorship to those pursuing their entrepreneurial aspirations.
